About Us

Founded in 2007 and headquartered in North Carolina, Family Solutions has expanded to have over 11 offices in within the District of Columbia, Illinois, Louisiana, Ohio, and Texas. Family Solutions is a behavioral healthcare provider that is committed to serving our community with professionals who care for the well-being of the body, mind, and spirit of their clients. At Family Solutions, we provide a wide array of behavioral healthcare of evidence and best practice interventions for children and families. Our agency approach is to focus on the individualized needs of our clients and to promote integrated and holistic care through understanding their life experiences, relationships, community and support system. Our Mental Health Professionals work to empower the client to make positive choices, helping the client meet their own uniquely identified goals. We aim for all interventions we make with an individual or in a family to be meaningful and to promote real growth, change and bring opportunity.

Our Mission

Our mission is to assist those in adults affected by severe mental health issues (SMD) and children and youth with serious emotional disturbance (SED) to achieve their hopes, dreams, and quality of life goals. To provide access to services within a nonrestrictive and non-stigmatizing environment. To foster a coordinated system utilizing community outreach and positive self-care. To provide services respectful of person’s family and loved ones, language, culture, ethnicity, gender, and sexual identity.

Our Goals

  • To understand the root causes of impulse control, oppositional, defiant, and disruptive behaviors and work with the individual to learn new, less self-defeating coping skills.
  • To help alleviate and stabilize symptoms of depression, anxiety, mood swings, obsession and compulsion, trauma related stressors, and other chronic conditions that may need to be the focus of clinical attention. and other chronic symptoms.
  • To maintain wellness, recovery, and resiliency through collaborative planning and developing individualized effective ways to deal with and control symptoms of illness.
  • To engage individuals in wholistic health promotion activities and develop broader range of skills available in the individuals “tool box”.
  • To promote successful integration into the community through healthy community participation and social engagement.
  • To link individuals to vocational rehabilitation programs and support return to the workforce as medically appropriate.
  • To assist individuals to succeed academically and minimize or prevent disruption in their educational goals.
  • To reduce or prevent involvement with the criminal and juvenile legal systems.
  • To reduce incidents of psychiatric hospitalization.
  • To minimize or prevent out-of-home placement.
  • To promote appropriate and successful family reunification.
